Preventing Childhood Allergies and Eczema

Peanut allergy concept

While I talk about this a lot with my direct patients, I don’t think that I’ve ever actually written an article about this subject.  And how new moms can prevent allergies and eczema, which I will tell you all right now is nothing more than an allergic response, before birth, and how mom and dad can prevent them after the child is born.

The very short version of this, is never to introduce a child or pregnant mom that has a cold, flu, or even injury, to new foods or hygiene products.  This is exactly how allergies and sensitivities are born.

In order to understand what I’m about to tell you, you must first understand how an allergy or sensitivity is formed in the human body.  And it begins with the first exposure, or an exposure after an extended period of time, to any food or even environmental product, at a time when the immune system is compromised.

Whether the immune system is learning how to process a substance for the first time, or reeducating itself because it has not been introduced to that substance for an extended period of time, if the immune system is compromised, meaning anything from an injury, inflammatory response, a cold, the flu, even extreme emotional issues , it can provoke an immune response.  When the immune system is compromised, it will associate any new exposure with the current its current state if turmoil and crisis.  It then trains itself to believe that that substance is foreign and of no benefit to the individual body, provoking an allergic response to all future exposures.

There is an example of this used in health kinesiology, where a child developed allergies to wool and to tannins, due to being a toddler that just began to walk, wearing a new wool sweater that she had just gotten from her grandmother, and pulled the tablecloth, spilling hot tea upon her body, creating second-degree burns.

In that instance, the young child’s body was just undergoing its first exposure to both wool and tannins, when they became burned by the hot tea.  Immediately, the immune system educated itself to the belief that these are both foreign substances associated with the burns.  Thus, in all future exposures, an allergic, immune response followed.

So if you’d like to know how to prevent allergies, eczema and possibly psoriasis, during pregnancy, do not introduce your body to any new foods, if you come down with the flu, are emotionally distraught, or in any instance where your immune system is compromised because you may transfer that to the baby.

Secondly, after the baby is born, and we all know that babies get sick, they get the sniffles, they get the croup and so many other things.  Unlike the child’s pregnant mother, what have an immature immune system, that is still learning, almost all foods our 1st exposures, so they must be while the child’s immune system is not in crisis. During times of illness or new injury, never introduce any child to a new food or even a new type of clothing material, or soap.  It’s very critical that you do not.  If you practice this, your child will grow up without allergies.
